Author and lecturer in climate & world history at Vives University of Applied Sciences in Bruges & Kortrijk. Pieter Boussemaere is auteur en docent klimaat & wereldgeschiedenis aan de Vives Hogeschool in Brugge & Kortrijk. Hij is al jaren een veelgevraagd spreker en fungeert geregeld als adviseur (o.m. voor Europese Commissie & Vlaamse Overheid omtrent klimaateducatie). In 2018 verscheen zijn recentste boek Tien klimaatacties die werken (Standaard Uitgeverij, 2018), dat eind 2021 een grondige update kreeg. Daarin vertrekt hij van de naakte feiten. Vrij van ideologisch of politiek getouwtrek biedt hij tien individuele acties die wetenschappelijk onderbouwd zijn en echt werken. Hij schreef eerder al Eerste hulp bij klimaatverwarring. Waarom de opwarming van de aarde veel meer is dan een milieuprobleem (Davidsfonds, 2015) en De langste reis. Op zoek naar het ontstaan van de mens (Davidsfonds, 2012). In 2016 publiceerde hij de opmerkelijke resultaten van een enquête die peilde naar de klimaatkennis van Vlaamse leerkrachten in opleiding. In 2019 schreef hij mee aan het ‘A net-zero greenhouse gas emissions Belgium 2050‘-rapport dat de contouren uittekent richting een koolstofarm België. -
